About LBW / Luxury Beauty Distribution

Luxury Beauty Distribution (LBD) is the distribution division of LBW Group, a UK-based luxury beauty business. We help premium and emerging beauty brands enter and grow in the UK market, acting as a managing partner that handles market entry, compliance, retail placement, marketing and logistics end to end.

We bring beauty brands to the UK market and grow them there. As a full-service distributor, we handle everything from UK regulatory compliance and a Responsible Person to retail placement, sales, marketing and fulfilment — so a brand can launch and scale in the UK without building its own local operation.

Yes. LBW Group was named Best Luxury Beauty Distribution Company at the SME Enterprise Awards 2024, and is a recognised Northern Powerhouse Export Champion. We’re also ICO-registered and members of the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

They’re two divisions of LBW Group. Luxury Beauty Distribution partners with beauty brands to launch and grow them in the UK. Luxury Beauty Wholesale is a members-only B2B platform supplying beauty products to trade buyers. Brands we distribute can also gain reach through the wholesale network.

LBW Group is a UK-based business headquartered in London, operating with global reach across 35+ countries and six international fulfilment hubs, supported by UK warehousing.

Working With Us

We start with a discovery call to understand your brand and goals, then assess your readiness for the UK. From there we handle compliance, build your market-entry and retail strategy, place your brand with the right retailers, and manage supply, sales and marketing — as one managing partner.

We work with premium and emerging beauty brands entering or expanding in the UK — including international brands, K-beauty, clean and vegan, skincare, haircare, cosmetics and fragrance. We support brands at every stage, from first UK launch to expansion into new retail channels.

Both. Our boutique approach is built for emerging and international brands that need a partner to open doors, as well as established brands expanding into new UK channels. We tailor the route to market to each brand’s stage and goals.

No. Many of the brands we work with are international. We act as your UK arm — providing or arranging a UK Responsible Person, warehousing and retail access — so you can enter the UK market without setting up a UK company or team.

The easiest way is to book a discovery call. Tell us about your brand, your products and your ambitions for the UK, and we’ll explain how we’d approach your market entry and what the next steps look like.

It depends on the model and scale. Distributors often purchase stock upfront and earn a margin on resale, giving your brand a stable revenue stream with lower upfront risk. Our RetailConnect service also uses transparent per-channel pricing. We share a clear, brand-specific projection before you commit.

UK Market Entry & Compliance

You need four things in place: a clear market position, full UK regulatory compliance (a CPSR and a UK Responsible Person), competitive pricing, and access to retail buyers. Most overseas brands use a UK distributor to handle all four — the fastest, lowest-risk route to market.

Before sale, each product needs a Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) signed by a qualified safety assessor, a Product Information File, a UK-based Responsible Person, and an SCPN notification to the OPSS. Your labelling must also meet UK requirements. These are separate from EU requirements.

A UK Responsible Person is the UK-established individual or company that takes legal responsibility for a cosmetic product’s compliance. Every product sold in Great Britain must have one. Since Brexit, an EU Responsible Person doesn’t cover the UK. We provide or arrange yours as part of our service.

No. Since Brexit, the UK and EU run separate systems. Selling in Great Britain requires a UK-based Responsible Person and SCPN notification; the EU requires its own Responsible Person and CPNP notification. To sell in both markets, you need both.

Yes. We manage the full UK compliance process — coordinating your CPSR with qualified safety assessors, providing or arranging your UK Responsible Person, submitting SCPN notifications, and reviewing labelling — so your products enter the market cleanly.

It depends on your category, compliance status and retail targets. With safety data ready, compliance and notification can move quickly; a full multi-retailer launch takes longer. We give you a realistic, sequenced timeline at the strategy stage.

Retail Access & Placement

Through UK compliance, a retail-ready proposition, a strong sell-in and access to the right buyers. A distributor with established relationships can present your brand directly to retailers and secure listings far faster than approaching them cold, then manage the accounts.

We pitch and place brands with major and prestige UK retailers through established buyer relationships, and manage the accounts once listed. We can’t guarantee any specific retailer — placement depends on fit and buyer decisions — but we get your brand to the standard they expect and make the right introductions.

RetailConnect is our done-for-you retail access and channel-management service. We open the right retail doors, integrate your operations, run your accounts day to day, and scale your presence as demand grows — acting as your managing partner rather than a passive distributor.

For many brands, specialist and independent retail is the smart first move — lower barriers, engaged audiences, and the sell-through record that unlocks prestige retail later. We help you sequence your retail journey, starting where you’ll succeed and building toward where you want to be.

Yes. Alongside managed retail placement, brands we represent can reach a broad base of independent stockists, salons and pharmacies through LBW’s wholesale trade network across 35+ countries — giving reach at scale that a standalone distributor can’t match.

Logistics & Operations

Yes. We import your stock into the UK, store it across our hubs and 24,000 sq ft of warehousing, and ship to each retailer on their terms — ex-works or delivered. You don’t need your own UK logistics setup.

Yes. Our six global hubs mean we can serve retailers across 35+ countries and support brands looking to reach markets beyond the UK, using our UK operation as a hub with genuine international reach.

Yes. Products entering the UK often need English labelling, importer or Responsible Person details and required symbols. As part of fulfilment, we relabel stock where required so it meets UK requirements before it reaches retailers.

Marketing & Growth

Yes. Marketing is part of our service — brand positioning, PR, influencer partnerships, social and retail activation — all built around your commercial goals and timed to your retail launches, because we understand what actually drives sell-through on UK shelves.

Because retailers review performance constantly, and a brand that doesn’t sell through gets delisted — often within a season. Marketing creates the demand that keeps your products moving and your listing secure, turning a launch into lasting shelf presence.

We help ensure your claims are presented in line with current UK guidance and flag where evidence or certification strengthens them. For formal legal or certification sign-off, we work alongside the appropriate specialists. This matters especially for efficacy, ‘clean’ and environmental claims.
